Celebrate the Arts Award at the University of Cambridge Museums
Young people are invited to the Fitzwilliam Museum on Saturday 19 July between 2-4pm for an afternoon of art workshops as a taster of the Arts Award scheme.
There will be plenty to inspire our young artists. Visiting sculptor, Susie Olczak, will be leading a clay sculpture workshop where young artists can create maquettes from their drawing research of sculpture in the Fitzwilliam’s collection.
Young musicians are invited to bring their instruments and singing talents to informally pitch up in our gazebo on the Museum lawn. No Glasto’ style mud, we promise! But a chance to hear talented young musicians.
The afternoon is great if you’ve been thinking about taking the Arts Award but wondered if it is for you. Maybe you’re not sure if you have the time, skills or just need to see what is involved.
To help young people find out more Trinity College are also visiting and showing film clips of the exciting arts projects young Arts Award groups have been involved with at the University of Cambridge Museums and Nationwide. Previous Arts Award participants will come along through the afternoon with displays of their Arts Award sketchbooks, art work and be on hand to chat to about their experiences.
