Work Experience Taster Days

‘How do I get to know more about the variety of career paths available within museums and the cultural sector?’ I hear you ask. The University of Cambridge Museums has just the answer.

If you are aged 13 -18, please join us for a Work Experience Taster Day.  These days are offered three times per year and include an activity-rich, hands-on day packed with sessions and speakers from across the museums.  As professionals doing the museum jobs first-hand, our staff spend the day explaining what their roles entail, how they got to where they are and what motivates them to work in the cultural sector.

You get the chance to ask questions, go behind the scenes and try something new.

Careers in museums can range from the obvious like curation and conservation, to the not-so-obvious including digital, marketing, education/outreach, collections management, logistics, customer service, and so much more. To see what we got up to on the recent Work Experience Taster Day, check out the agenda below and photos.
