The end of the year is almost upon us and perhaps your thoughts are moving forward to some New Year’s resolutions. Rather than yet another fitness campaign or a complicated diet regime, why not make more time to visit all the amazing museums Cambridge has to offer? From classical archaeology to the wonders of the Polar regions, you can explore the world without the hassle of the departure lounge! However, if you are planning a visit over the Christmas period, make sure you check our holiday opening times before setting out.

The Fitzwilliam Museum
Closes Tuesday 23 December at 5pm, reopens Saturday 27 December at 10am
Closed Monday 29 December, Wednesday 31 December and Thursday 1 January

Kettle’s Yard
Closes Wednesday 24 December at 5pm, reopens Friday 2 January at 11.30am

Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
Closes Sunday 21 December at 4.30pm, reopens Friday 2 January at 10.30am

Museum of Zoology
CLOSED to the public for major refurbishment work until 2016

Museum of Classical Archaeology
Closes Tuesday 23 December at 5pm, reopens Monday 5 January at 10am

Whipple Museum of the History of Science
