Projects, events and news from the University of Cambridge Museums
If you are looking for fun and family entertainment this summer, our jam-packed Summer at the Museums programme is a great place to start! Whether it’s something to do on a rainy day, a day out close to home, or a bit of hands-on creativity, we have loads of activities and events for you to choose from throughout the summer holiday.
This weekend, we will be bringing some of that summer action to the Big Weekend, with Cambridge museums and collections offering a range of hands-on activities for families. To get a taste of what’s on offer, join us in the museums’ Make & Create tent, Saturday 11 July 12 – 5pm on Parker’s Piece. From programming mini-robots, creating miniature canoes and all sorts of other printing and art activities, there will be loads to try-out and do.
While you’re there, be sure to pick up a copy of our Summer at the Museums What’s On booklet. In addition to general family happenings, it includes events for older children and teens, along with useful information such as options for packed-lunches and picnics, and travel advice.
The Make and Create tent will include activities from:
Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology
Cambridge Centre for Computing History
Cambridge Museum of Technology
Museum of Classical Archaeology
The Polar Museum
And when you’ve finished ‘making and creating’ don’t forget to pop to the Fun Lab tent next door for all sorts of interactive science activities and weird and wacky wild life…
