Projects, events and news from the University of Cambridge Museums
On Saturday 5 December, the University of Cambridge Museums and CHaOS (Cambridge Hands-On Science) will be treating families to a variety of free hands-on activities at the Mill Road Winter Fair. Join us at the Salisbury Conservative Club from 11am – 4pm for activities ranging from object handling to interactive science experiments.
Families looking to escape the crowds at this year’s Mill Road Winter Fair can introduce their little Mill Roaders to a host of free activities which are sure to inspire and delight in equal measure. From making origami penguins decorations, to handling some surprising objects from the museums’ collections, six museums (the Whipple Museum, Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Sedgwick Museum, Polar Museum and Museum of Zoology) will be offering a host of wonderful family experiences sure to keep young, inquisitive minds busy and entertained.
For those after some experimental action, the museums will be joined by CHaOS, who will be putting on fun, interactive science that’s perfect for budding Einsteins. Explore the physics of light and sound, and discover a different side of chemistry with experiments for all ages, whether 8 or 80 (or somewhere in-between)!
So come armed with curious minds and an adventurous spirit, and get ready to experience fun hands-on activities for the whole family.
